Help: Digital ID and identity strength
Troubleshoot common issues and errors related to your Digital ID and identity strength.
Published 7 August 2025
If you're unable to set up a Digital ID, such as myID, with a Standard or Strong identity strength, you won’t be able to link your business in RAM at this time.
Alternatively, you can:
- Check if another principal authority can achieve a Standard or Strong Digital ID – they can link the business in RAM instead and authorise you to access some services as a Basic user.
- Contact the relevant service you want to access to find out about other options for your business – for example, using cloud-based Standard Business Reporting (SBR)-enabled software.
Check if you’re eligible to set up Digital ID, such as myIDExternal Link, with a Standard or Strong identity strength.
If you’re unable to achieve at least a Standard identity strength, check the minimum identity strength required for the service you need to access on behalf of a business.
For example, if the service accepts a Basic identity strength, you can set up a Basic myID and then be authorised as a Basic user by a principal authority or authorisation administrator. Some agencies may require further identity proofing.
