Overview of express consent
Express consent allows RAM to share your personal information with participating government agencies so you can act on behalf of a business online.
You provide express consent when you link a business or accept an authorisation in RAM.
To give your consent, select the checkbox Yes, I provide my Express Consent and follow the prompts. Depending on the action, you may also need to confirm you understand and accept the declaration.
Express consent is valid for up to 7 years from the date it was provided. After this period, you’ll need to renew your consent to continue accessing government online services on behalf of a business.
If consent is not accepted or renewed, your authorisation will be removed. This may also affect machine credentials you’ve created and impact others who are authorised to act on behalf of the business.
You can use the View or manage consent option in your RAM dashboard to:
- View, renew, or withdraw consent.
- Export consent history for your records.
How to renew or withdraw consent
- Log into RAMExternal Link
- Select View or manage consent. Select the relevant consent.
- Select Continue.
- Use the Consent action dropdown menu next to each business.
- Choose either Renew or Withdraw.
- If renewing:
- Select the Renew all for maximum period checkbox to automatically set the consent end date to 7 years from today.
- Alternatively, manually select a custom consent end date.
- Select Continue.
- Check the summary details, select the consent checkbox, then click Submit.
How to export history
- Log in to RAM.
- Select View or manage consent.
- Select Consent history.
- Search by Date of action, Entity name, Action, Consent end date and Role.
- Select Export to download the consent activity.
